Provided by AGPDemocracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN) said the findings — compiled from LinkedIn profile data — expose a "revolving-door relationship" between AIPAC and governmental bodies on both sides of the Atlantic.
The figures are striking: at least 66 former AIPAC employees have since moved into federal government roles, spanning the White House and multiple military branches, while 40 others now occupy positions on Capitol Hill, including within the House Foreign Affairs Committee. An additional 23 current AIPAC staffers previously served in the federal government, among them 17 who held congressional posts.
Ties to Israel run parallel. Seven former AIPAC employees are now working directly for Israeli governmental institutions, while six sitting staffers previously held roles with the Israeli government, according to DAWN's report.
"AIPAC shapes US policy in the Middle East but operates entirely in the shadows," said Omar Shakir, DAWN's executive director. "AIPAC's tax-exempt status means that American taxpayers effectively subsidize the pro-Israel lobby and they deserve to know how AIPAC works and who works for it."
The underlying dataset was built in collaboration with open-source intelligence analyst Matthew Penn of Eagle Mission and spans nearly 400,000 individuals connected to more than 2,000 organisations, representing upward of 1.2 million professional links in total.
The disclosure lands as AIPAC faces intensifying scrutiny over its involvement in the 2026 midterm primary cycle, set against a backdrop of sharply eroding American public sympathy for Israel. A Pew Research Center survey conducted in late March found that six in ten US adults now hold an unfavourable view of the country.
AIPAC, for its part, describes itself on its website as "an American organisation" that neither takes direction from nor receives funding from the Israeli government.
