Provided by AGPThe Iran Football Federation stated that the team’s qualification is secured based on its sporting results and that preparations and training are already underway ahead of the tournament. The event is scheduled to run from June 11 to July 19.
Iranian media reported that administrative arrangements, including visa-related procedures connected to the tournament, have been completed, allowing the team to proceed with participation planning.
The federation also reportedly outlined a set of conditions for participation in the tournament. These included assurances that players and coaching staff would receive visas without complications and would not face additional questioning by US immigration authorities during travel.
Additional reported requests included streamlined visa access for Iranian journalists and fans, enhanced security arrangements around airports, hotels, transportation routes, and stadiums, and limits on stadium flag displays to Iran’s official national flag only.
Other conditions reportedly involved ensuring that Iran’s national anthem is played without interruption during matches and that media questions at press conferences remain strictly focused on football matters.
The 2026 World Cup will feature expanded participation and will be hosted across three North American countries.
