Ukraine Locks in French Rafale Jets Deal

(MENAFN) French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Monday formalized a letter of intent authorizing Ukraine to procure up to 100 Rafale fighter jets throughout the coming decade, alongside additional defense hardware, both leaders confirmed.

The two presidents convened in Paris. During a joint press briefing, Macron announced that France and Ukraine would deepen bilateral collaboration over the next ten years, with particular emphasis on the defense industry.

Macron noted that France's backing for Ukraine extends beyond weaponry to encompass cooperation in civilian and economic sectors as well.

Zelensky declared on X that the agreement represented a "historic moment" for both nations.
