Drone Strike Claims Life of French Photojournalist in Ukraine
The incident, which remains under investigation, marks the first time a journalist has been fatally struck by a drone in Ukraine, according to the EFJ.
In a statement, EFJ expressed its grave concern over the attack, highlighting the increasing dangers faced by reporters covering the ongoing conflict. "This is the first time a journalist has been killed by a drone in Ukraine," the organization noted.
French President Emmanuel Macron took to the social media platform X to offer his condolences. "Our compatriot, photojournalist Antoni Lallican, was accompanying the Ukrainian army on the front line of the resistance. I have learned with deep sorrow of his death, the victim of a Russian drone attack," Macron wrote.
The circumstances surrounding Lallican's death are still under investigation as authorities work to uncover the full details of the tragic incident.
