Ed Miliband Considers Musk as Threat to Britain
(MENAFN) UK Energy Secretary Ed Miliband has leveled serious accusations against Elon Musk, describing the billionaire as a significant danger to the United Kingdom.
Miliband claims that Musk supports nationalist factions aiming to destabilize the nation.
During his address at the Labour Party conference on Wednesday, the former party leader connected Musk with Nigel Farage, whose Reform UK party gained momentum in the May local elections.
The US entrepreneur has voiced his backing for the party, though he has also called on Farage to resign.
Miliband characterized Farage as “a key part of a global network that wants to destroy the ties that bind our communities and our way of life.”
He summarized the threat in stark terms: “I can sum up the threat for you in two words: Elon Musk.”
The Energy Secretary further accused Musk of “inciting violence on our streets,” advocating for “the overthrow of our elected government,” and spreading “disinformation through X” – the microblogging platform Musk acquired in 2022.
Musk seemed undeterred by the allegations. Soon after Miliband’s speech, he launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Keir Starmer, describing him as “an actor with an empty head” who simply parrots lines given to him by others.
The tension between Musk and Starmer has been ongoing for months, largely revolving around the UK’s grooming gang controversy.
In June, Starmer ordered a fresh national investigation into the mass sexual exploitation of British girls, crimes predominantly linked to gangs of Pakistani men over the last decade.
Musk responded by accusing the prime minister of being “deeply complicit in the mass rapes in exchange for votes.”
