Pope Leo XIV Holds Key Talks with Bahrain's Crown Prince

(MENAFN) Pope Leo XIV hosted Bahrain's Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa at the Vatican on Monday for high-level talks covering key regional and international concerns, including the ongoing crisis in the Middle East.

In a statement, media reported that the two leaders discussed "several topics of common interest," focusing particularly on "the urgent need to end the war in the Middle East and the commitment to peace among nations."

The discussion also highlighted Bahrain's policy of "promoting interreligious dialogue and the peaceful coexistence of different religions within the Kingdom." Both sides expressed appreciation for the "good bilateral relations" between them and agreed on a mutual desire to "further strengthen" those ties.

Additionally, the Crown Prince engaged in separate discussions with Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin and Monsignor Miroslaw Stanislaw Wachowski, the Vatican's under-secretary for relations with states and international organizations.
