Five Tunisian National Guard Officers Die in Tragic Road Crash

(MENAFN) In the early hours of Thursday, a fatal collision in Tunisia’s eastern Sfax province resulted in the deaths of five National Guard officers, according to an official statement from the National Guard’s Facebook page.

The crash took place around 2:45 a.m. local time (0145 GMT) on the road connecting the town of Skhira, where two light vehicles collided head-on, the statement revealed.

One vehicle was carrying four officers, while the other was a privately owned car driven by a fifth officer.

Preliminary investigations confirmed that all five officers perished instantly at the scene. Authorities have now initiated a formal investigation to determine the circumstances behind the deadly accident.
