Israel Hits Iran with Fresh Airtrikes
In a video briefing, Defrin revealed that fighter jets targeted missile-related facilities, specifically launch and storage sites for surface-to-surface weapons. The strikes focused on militants seen attempting to retrieve arms from previously bombed locations.
This marked the third significant round of Israeli airstrikes within a single day. The offensive began overnight, involving over 50 warplanes striking nearly 40 sites across Tehran.
"Among the targets struck was a centrifuge production site, a key component in the Iranian regime's efforts to enrich uranium," Defrin stated. He also pointed out that another key facility near Tehran—used to produce anti-tank missiles, some destined for Hezbollah—was destroyed in the same wave.
A second wave followed on Wednesday afternoon, hitting more than 20 additional military sites in and around the Iranian capital.
"The targets struck were part of Iran's military weapons industry and its security apparatus," Defrin added. "This includes three significant sites connected to missile production, including engines, navigation systems, and missile assembly."
In a separate address, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asserted that Israel holds dominance in the skies over Tehran.
Meanwhile, an Iranian news agency reported that an Israeli strike damaged an area near Tehran’s police headquarters, injuring several police officers.
Diplomatic tensions escalated as Iran summoned Germany’s ambassador in response to comments made by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz endorsing Israel’s actions, according to media.
Iran additionally called in the Swiss envoy—who serves as the diplomatic representative for U.S. interests in the country—to lodge a formal complaint over what it described as "provocative" remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, following his demand for Iran's "unconditional surrender," according to reports from Iranian media.
