Iran Rebukes Germany Over Remarks
According to an Iranian news outlet, “Following the German Chancellor's ridiculous and shameful remarks in support of the Israeli regime's aggression, the German ambassador was summoned to the Iranian Foreign Ministry.”
This action came in response to Merz’s recent statements that backed Israel's military actions against Iran.
On the same day, Merz reiterated his stance, labeling Israel's air operations as "dirty work that Israel is doing for all of us (Western nations)” in dealing with Iran's nuclear ambitions.
Despite facing some disapproval, Merz claimed that his viewpoint had garnered extensive endorsement.
After a meeting with German state leaders in Berlin, Merz told the press that the remarks were well received: “These remarks have found overwhelming approval, and I'm pleased about that. It is shared by many others, and I don't need to comment on the few critical voices that have emerged.”
These affirmations followed his earlier comments at the G7 summit in Canada on Tuesday, where he commended Israel's military actions and cautioned Tehran that avoiding diplomatic solutions could result in the “complete destruction” of its nuclear facilities.
In an interview on the same day, Merz was asked whether Israel’s attacks could be described as “dirty work.”
He concurred with the term and delivered his most severe condemnation to date of the Iranian government.
