New wave of missiles is fired at Israel by Iran
Reports indicated that the Israeli military managed to intercept all missiles involved in the attack. Between five and seven missiles were launched from Iranian territory, with some failing mid-flight and the rest being shot down before reaching their targets, as noted by coverage from regional broadcasters.
Military radio in Israel stated that this was the first missile salvo from Iran in the previous 18 hours.
Later in the evening, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps announced the beginning of the 12th wave of what they call “Operation True Promise 3,” stating: “The 12th wave of ‘Operation True Promise 3’ has begun, with the launch of super-heavy, long-range, two-stage Sejjil missiles,” according to reports from Iranian media.
Not long afterward, the Israeli military confirmed that it intercepted a drone over southern Golan. The drone entered Israeli airspace, triggering sirens near the Ramat Magshimim settlement before it was brought down.
This latest confrontation comes amid rapidly increasing hostilities. Tensions escalated last Friday when Israel carried out airstrikes on several locations within Iran, including military and nuclear infrastructure, prompting a series of retaliatory moves from Tehran.
