Iran supreme Leader states Iran is not to be threatened
In recent days, Trump has declared that American forces are prepared to respond if Iran targets U.S. interests and referred to Khamenei as an “easy target.” On his social media platform, Trump stated, “we are not going to take him out—at least not for now,” while also insisting that Iran “must surrender” and asserting that the U.S. maintains “complete and total control of the skies over Iran.”
In a televised speech on Wednesday, Khamenei countered, saying, “those with wisdom who know Iran and its history never speak to this nation in the language of threats.” He emphasized that “Iran is not a nation that will surrender” and warned that any American military action would bring damage that “cannot be compensated.”
Rejecting Trump’s demand for Iran’s “unconditional surrender,” Khamenei said the Islamic Republic “will not accept an imposed peace.” He criticized the U.S. president’s rhetoric as “absurd” and stated, “They should make threats against those who are afraid of being threatened. The Iranian nation isn’t frightened by such threats.” Khamenei also suggested that Washington was directly involved in Israel’s recent attacks on Iran.
Israel began striking Iranian sites last Friday, alleging that Tehran is close to developing a nuclear weapon. Iran denied these claims and retaliated with multiple drone and missile strikes on Israeli targets.
The Israeli attacks have drawn condemnation from various countries, including Russia, which labeled the strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities as “illegal” and cautioned they might lead to a “nuclear catastrophe.”
